Challenge

This client in Seattle met with an engineer to discuss stem wall cracks and settlement to their home. After further investigation, it was determined that shifting of the foundation was due to soil erosion caused by poor drainage.

Solution

Our crew installed 9 push piers to stabilize the settling areas of the structure, a total lift from 1.5" to 1 5/8” was completed. We then focused on repairing the stem wall cracks by sealing the cracks and utilized a 30” x 12” steel plate. We also installed a 9”x9” catch basins, pop emitter system and 10 ft of drainage pipe was installed to keep water from saturating foundation soils. The total installation of piers and drainage repairs were completed in two days and the client was amazed by the end results of the project.
