Challenge

The new owner of this Edmonds home and an engineer discussed settlement and potential drainage issues that contributed to the settlement issues. Water appeared to be coming into the property from the northeastern corner of the site. Recommendations of drainage repair and push pier placement were given to stabilize the foundation.

Solution

The engineering report was created for the homeowner to alleviate the water source and to prevent further settlement of the foundation of the home. The engineer recommended that water is to be collected by a catch basin or dispersed at the bottom of the back yard in a controlled manner. 28 piers were installed at depths of 13' to correct settlement issues and drainage was re-routed to divert the water flow away from the home. The customer was very pleased with the completed project and they were able to move into their new home worry free.
