Mat is everything you could want in a contractor. He is trustworthy, creative, and hard working. His ideas saved us thousands of dollars on a project that was initially overwhelming. Our foundation needed pin piles and we wanted to update the kitchen and add a deck so we decided to do all projects concurrently. Throughout the months that Mat and his team were working at our house they were always punctual, professional, and courteous. Mat was a gift to us and continues to be. He is smart, insightful, available, and personable. He will be my first call for any further work we do on this house and I recommend him without hesitation.
what a great job completed on time and on budget.
Why Go To Matvey Construction for Repairs...
I have worked alongside Matvey the past 6 months and he is a very honest person. He is very attentive and explains in details about your concerns and issues until you understand. I would recommend Matvey to anyone who needs to do any structural repairs.
our foundation was settiling down the hill and the floors were sloping over 5" inches of drop after initial inspection and conversations we choose Matvey construction these guys really wowed us the work was in the heavy rain they did all the diging by hand to avoid hitting the utilities the price was very commpetitive and they did not exceeed the quoted price they did a super job i would reccomend them to anyone who wants a foundation repaired or a slab lifed WHAT A GREAT COMPANY!
We had Matvey Construction install 6 push piers under two sections of our foundation recently. We were really impressed by how fast they were able to do this! We have a lot of clay in the soil under our house (translation: VERY hard to dig up). It only took these guys about a day and a half. The first day they they installed 4 of them, and the 2nd day they installed the remaining two. Day 1: Dug 4 holes of approximately 5' deep by 3 1/2 foot wide sqare. Installed the foundation support/push pier under our foundation, then hydraulically drove several sections of triple coated galvanized tube into the soil of each hole about 18 to 19 feet to bedrock (my words, not theirs), and until in our case they had around 3,100 pounds of pressure on their gauge. With the 4 areas of the foundation now supported, they filled in the holes and were done. With the dirt filled in, the bottom of the tubes were at approximately 23 to 24 feet deep. Day 2: Same process, but with just two holes. There were great at explaining what they were doing, and were very courteous, and extremely hard working. All this, and it comes with a 25-year warranty. For a couple hundred more, we could have extended to a 75-year warranty, but we chose not to. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
Our house developed a foundation crack, which was allowing the corner of the house to sink. I called Matvey construction and they came out right away and gave me a bid. Since Matvey is a structural engineer his bid included the engineering. I also contacted another foundation repair contractor who referred me to two structural engineers. Both those engineers proposed expensive geotechnical studies, land surveys and excessive fixes (including a piering technology that would not have been allowed by the city). Because Matvey has a long history of working on foundations in my part of the city he had access to the necessary soils data. He predicted where they would find bedrock within 6 inches. I was able to negotiate a price that fit my budget and they added my house to their schedule within a week. The crew came out and had the repair completed in two and a half days. After digging out the foundation on the corner of the house they found that fixing the problem would require additional concrete and rebar work. Matvey kept the charges for the additional work to a minimum for which I am grateful. The crew worked very hard because they had to bring all the gear and concrete up a lot of stairs. They answered my questions and showed me what they were doing. They fully restored a brick pathway that they had to dig up to make the repairs. Matvey also personally went under the house (not easy to do) to confirm the adequacy of his repair design. He also checked the basement flooring supports to insure they were still strong. Looking to use the company again on a retaining wall project.

Willingness to stand behind your work and offer a guarantee. Use of modern approach to correct settling concrete for porch and patio.
It was the best experience I have had dealing with a construction company or people. He showed up when he said he would, as well as completed the job when he said he would. He knew my project needed to be finished quickly, and he worked very hard to make that happen. He did a perfect job, his work was flawless. I wouldn't use anyone else. Thank you.
Matvey Construction has been an incredible help to us and our building. We're a multi unit co-op building with a leaking and basement and a small budget. We carefully selected a contractor and paid a lot of money for a repair that ultimately did not fix the problem - so frustrating. Second time around, thankfully, we were referred to Matvey Contruction.
While redoing our basement flooring we encountered two problems: a hole in our concrete slab and foundation issues. Matvey was out very quickly to look at the issues and within 2 days (over the weekend) came back with a quote and detailed scope of work. All the other companies we contacted took longer than a week, with one saying (Ramjack) that they would not bid on the job. We went with Matvey and on the day of the leveling repair, the wrong truck was sent due to a misunderstanding of how large the road leading up to our house was. When we told the office manager how tight our deadlines were to get this part of the repair done, she worked a miracle for us and got a smaller truck out two days later--this was between Christmas and Thanksgiving. We cannot thank you enough--the repairs were done per the scope of work, the installation crew worked quietly and quickly, and the area they worked in was cleaner than it was before. I would recommend Matvey to anyone dealing with foundation issues.
Quick response time.
Matvey Construction was organized and very thorough in explaining how the job would be handled. He handled our concerns and was very courteous. He finished the job in a timely fashion.
One area missed. Kept there word and came back as promised to complete the job.
